The Benefits of Separation

When people’s marriages become difficult and solutions do not seem forthcoming, most people almost automatically choose getting a divorce. If the marriage is not working, then it has to end, the logic goes. But difficult marriages do not have to end, at least not immediately. Separation is a good option, for it offers many benefits.

One of the benefits of separation is that it allows people to cool off and reflect on their marriage. By being away from one’s partner and not getting into the disputes that occurred when the couple was living together, each partner can more calmly look at and analyze the marriage and the problems that were happening.
