What is equitable distribution?
When you divorce, your communal property must be divided among the divorcing parties. This is generally done through a process called equitable distribution. The court will try to decide whether one spouse will be better off than the other financially. If this is the case, the other spouse will receive more of the property to compensate for the difference in financial stability.
If you would like to know more about equitable distribution, you can contact the Frisco family attorneys of Alexander & Associates at 972-420-6570.
