Frisco Protective Orders Lawyer
Protective Orders are civil court orders designed to prevent individuals who are found to have committed family violence within the last two years from going near or further harassing their “victim.” If granted, a protective order can last for up to two years, and will be placed on the offender’s criminal history. Additionally, a violation of a protective order is a criminal offense and can result in up to 365 days in jail and/or a fine of not more than $4,000.00.
If you need a protective order, or one has been filed against you, it is important for you to contact an attorney. Often times you may only be give fourteen days to prepare your case for final hearing. Your attorney will need every one of those days to protect your rights.
