When I was approaching law school graduation and making decisions about my future in law, I turned to what I perceived to be truth and justice – I became a prosecutor. I worked as a prosecutor for just shy of two years and gained what I can only say was invaluable experience for both my criminal and family law clients. However, I also learned that I was a bit naive in my expectations of “truth and justice,” and that oftentimes I feel better about my work in our community after helping an individual after they make a mistake, or are just accused of making a mistake, or after helping a man or a women fight for their children. After all, it is helping those that need help that gives us the greatest satisfaction. So, if I had to sum up what my philosophy is on the practice of law, I would say that I am a fighter. I fight for what you deserve, legally and morally. Not every case needs a fight, but you deserve someone who will not back down when you need it most, put up their fists and get to work.
