What are Temporary Orders?
Temporary Orders may be requested by either party in their original pleadings to request the judge to make certain orders regarding your property and/or your children during the pendency of your suit. These “ground rules” can include who is to remain in the marital residence, who is to pay joint debt/bills, who is to be given the primary responsibility of the children and how often the other party is granted visitation, the amount the child support to be paid, interm attorney fees or spousal maintenance, and other such temporary orders. These orders generally remain in effect until the case is final or they are modified upon the request of a party.
